Frequently asked questions
Please do! It is important that our guests are as comfortable as possible during their stay. Abruptly changing your pet’s diet can cause diarrhea/tummy aches or additional GI issues, which in turn create additional stresses for your pet. If you bring your own food, we ask that you bring it in a resealable container (ex. ziploc bag, tupperware, etc). If you choose not to bring your own food, not a problem, we are happy to feed Iams Small Chunks for dogs and Meow Mix for cats at no additional cost.
Yes, we encourage you to bring any treats, toys, and bedding from home that will make your pet more comfortable during their stay. If you'd prefer not to, however, we are happy to supply bedding and treats!
First, it is very important to tell us about your dog’s tendencies to jump or climb. All of our runs are fully covered and while our play yard is double-fenced, knowing your pet's tendencies will help us ensure they have a safe stay!
We do offer exit baths upon request- however, appointment slots are limited and subject to the groomer's availability. Many of our guests make reservations for baths or grooming while they are here for daycare or boarding. If you know you would like your pet bathed during their stay, it's a good idea to let us know in advance so we can make sure they get on the schedule!
Our posted business hours are only for the office (handling calls, check-in and check-out). The owners- Hailey and Joseph- live on the property and tend to our guests 7 days a week 24/7 365 days a year. If we have a major storm or other emergency after hours, they are there to ensure everyone is safe and comfortable.
We offer group play for our canine guests at no additional charge. This service is only offered on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. This is ENTIRELY OPTIONAL- some dogs are social butterflies and some are wallflowers, and that is OKAY. Our goal is to ensure each of our guests has the best stay possible, whether that means they play with other doggie friends or they spend their time getting loving from the humans.
While minor scrapes can be a very normal part of group play for dogs, we take safety very seriously. Owners fill out a group play form before their dog enters group play- this allows us to identify any potential problem behaviors before your dog even sets paw in the play yard. Dogs new to group play will be behaviorally evaluated before being placed into a very small group.
We require two staff members in the play yard at all times during group play, and also keep our group sizes small, with never more than 5 small dogs or 3 large dogs per staff member.
We group dogs according to several things- SIZE, TEMPERAMENT, and PLAY STYLE.
If a dog becomes too excited and overstimulated during the course of play, we remove them from group and give them a chance to calm down in their run before rejoining play.
We have several great veterinarians in close proximity to our facility, along with an emergency vet located in Springfield (approximately 50 mins away).
Should a situation arise that requires non-emergent care, our first course of action is to evaluate the pet, then call the owner. If we are unable to get ahold of the owner, we proceed to contact any emergency contacts, and failing that, we contact the pet's vet or a local vet and follow their advice.
Should your pet need emergency care, we immediately transport them to a vet clinic and contact the owner en route.
Our staff is trained to recognize warning signs for various ailments, and our record-keeping system allows us to track behavior changes to help identify any potential problems. We treat every guest as we would our own children and will assure them the best attention available.
Taking a tour is the first step in easing your concerns about leaving your pet. We pride ourselves on the quality and cleanliness of our facility, the special hands on care, comfortable accommodations and personalized activities that we offer. Often we have seen that pets tend to sense our energy- so the more nervous you are, the more nervous they are! Many anxious boarders have come through our doors and done fantastic once they settle in and learn our routines. You are also welcome to call or message us to check up on your pet during their stay as many times as you need!
